WonderCon Return for 2013

Yes yes. I know it has been literally ages since my last blog post. I took on a LOT during this first half of the year and with the wedding coming up I am battling to find a balance.

And while we are on the topic of balance, you should know that I am dialing back on the blog. I am really enjoying the other things I am producing for Dungeon Master and want to focus more on creation of content than on trying to shove a random blog down your throat. This site will be evolving into something else over the next months and I am really excited to see what it becomes.

You will be hearing a lot from me over the next week and a half or so, though! Why is that, you ask?

Well, this coming weekend is WONDERCON and that means lots of blogging with a dash of live tweeting mixed in!

Woo! I love Con culture so much and I am looking forward to this more than you can understand. I have been so stressed with wedding planning and work so I super cannot wait to get away to geektopia for a weekend.

Okay! I’ll catch you soon!

Two Damsels, One Dungeon Master: Catch Up on the New Vlog!

It occurs to me that this blog has become very wedding focused. I guess it’s hard to avoid with it coming up so quick.

Aside from that, I hardly have any time to blog, so when I do manage to sit down and pen something, the wedding is in the forefront of my mind.

Apologies…

Something else has been keeping me tied up and away from my blog.

I blame this.

Two Damsels, One Dungeon Master is the new Vlog show that I created in collaboration with Courtney Kraft and the producers of Dungeon Master. To date we have aired three episodes (new episodes are out on Sundays) and one bonus episode for Valentines Day, as well as a trailer.

Take a look below and get caught up on the funnest new Fantasy/gamer themed Vlog show on the web.

Two Damsels, One Dungeon Master: The Vlog – Episode 1

Two Damsels, One Dungeon Master: N00bs – Episode 2

Two Damsels, One Dungeon Master: Orc Con 2013 – Episode 3

Another Round of Nerdy Valentines

Published on February 14, 2013, by in Holidays.

I must apologize for the lack of posting this week.

I have been dealt busy with Dungeon Master and work (and a surprise out of town visitor that made me smile).

Oh, and I ran a 5k (more on that later).

Today was Valentines day, so that means it is time for my annual post of my favorite nerdy cards.

Today’s round up is a lot more personal than last years.

Last year, I had a lot of fun looking for the best cards in the web…this year I had to look no further than Dungeon Master.

For the holiday this year, the show released two of their own berry Valentines and they are hilarious.

I mean…what is not to love about Buddwina on a bear skin rug…

Or some honest to goodness Leprechaun lovins.

=)

Oh, and Two Damsels launched a special Valentines day vlog.

You may recognize some of these cards from last year!

No throwback Thursday this week, on account of I need to hang out with my husband.

Happy Valentines day!

Time for dinner. ;)

Night!

Throwback Thursday: David the Gnome

Remember this guy?

Boy was he cute…and my favorite.

I didn’t know what it meant to be a nerd back then. But boy, was I?

I loved chronicling the adventures of this little gnome as he got into one thing or another.

Originally a Spanish cartoon, the American dub, David the Gnome, aired on Nickelodeon.

The show was about David (who was the oldest Gnome around at aged 399), his wife, Lisa, and his fox (and best friend) Swift.

David was a kindly doctor who loved his forest home and sought to keep it safe from enemies and invaders (mostly Trolls).

I think I always liked the show so much because it was an adventure with a touch of whimsy. I guess the genre has always been my main stay.

Do you remember David the Gnome?

My New “Dungeon Master” Vlog Show

I am very proud to finally be able to announce a project that means a great deal to me.

I came up with the idea for a Vlog focused on the long running stage show, Dungeon Master, at the shows fall season opener last year. I had great fun filming and editing my first episode, but quickly realized that the project was too big for just myself.

Two Damsels, One Dungeon Master is everything I wanted for the Vlog and so much more.

It’s a fun new Vlog show about Dungeon Master, but it is also me and my good friend Courtney talking about…whatever and trying new fun things and games and meeting new people.

The trailer went live today and I hope you will watch it, and if you want to be the first to see all new episodes of the show, then please subscribe to our YouTube Channel as well.

I welcome your comments and cannot wait to share the first episode!

Check back tonight for an all new Throw back Thursday (I have to go to work now).

Super Nerdy Super Bowl Trailers!

Published on February 6, 2013, by in 2013, movies.

After getting home from work (and going for a two mile run with my husband), I proceeded to sit in front of my computer for 5 hours working on various projects for the upcoming season of Dungeon-Master.

That being the case, I find myself with very little motivation to write anything substantial…

Instead, how about I show you two of the awesomest Super Bowl Commercials from Sunday.

Or, as I now call it…nerdbowl commercials, because when you have Captian Kirk and Iron Man together, there really isn’t anything better for our kind.

=)

Enjoy!!

Good night all of you out there in Cyber Land! I hope you enjoyed your nerd porn if you missed it. And a special thanks to youtube users joblomovienetwork and ClevverMovies for their uploads! :)

Weekly Nerdom: February 2, 2013

Published on February 2, 2013, by in Weekly Nerdom.

Happy Saturday everyone!

I hope you all had wonderful weeks, and that your weekend is off to an incredible start.

As with my Throwback Thursday post this week, I am adding another new weekly (hopefully) category to my blog: Weekly Nerdom!

In these weekly posts, I will recap and recount a few awesome and nerdy things I found that week.

Since this is my first Weekly Nerdom Post, however, this one may include awesome and nerdy things I found this month (or this year)…

Alright, here we go!

  • Doctor Who and the Tardis by Craig Hurle is an AMAZING Doctor Who Facebook fan page that is maintained by ELEVEN (get it…Eleven?) moderators around the globe. The page is constantly updated with the most amazing Doctor Who artwork, internet memes, episode reviews, cast photos…you get the idea. If you have a facebook page, go check them out NOW and subscribe to the page. You will be glad that you did.

  • Journey Quest is a fantasy web-series developed by the clever nerds who brought you “The Gamers,” and “The Gamers: Dorkness Rising (both of which are amazing and should be added to your Netflix cue ASAP). I have known about these guys fora long time, but only found the web-series a few nights ago when my husband suggested we watch it. Two minutes into the first episode and I was hooked. There is a bard writing a great epic, and a cowardly wizard, and blue Orcs and a creepy dungeon! It is just so prefect and everything you would expect from a great fantasy epic all wrapped up in a little comedic bow. The show is made possible by the support of their generous fans, so go take a look. The production value is great, the actors are hilarious and the script is great fun!

  • This Doctor Who Themed Wedding Inspiration almost makes me a little sad about my upcoming Harry Potter themed wedding (almost). The stylists really nailed every single detail from the table settings to the outfits, and even the vows are so beautifully Doctor Who. I can’t actually do anything but gush about this wedding (featured on Green Wedding Shoes) so I will just let you see what I am talking about with this sweet video from JakPhoto Films.

Speaking of nerdy weddings, I updated the wedding page today! Go take a peak at how the planning is going for our Harry Potter themed Shindig!

Throwback Thursday: Zelda – A Link to the Past

Today on the blog, I am going to be introducing a segment that I am going to call, “Throwback Thursday.” Every Thursday (or at least the ones I end up posting on….I really am trying to get better at daily posts) I will introduce a product or topic or old photo that fits the category, “Throwback Thursday.”

Today, I am going to start at the only place that makes sense.

Nintendo.

Or really….Super Nintendo.

Super Nintendo was the first gaming console that I really loved…and I didn’t even own one! If I wanted to play, I had to go hang out with my best friend Tamara at her house.

(Wow! Talk about a Throwback)….

But she was awesome about it, and even had a saved game for me in Zelda: A Link To The Past.

Both she and her brother just let the game stay on their console, and I was the only one who played it.

Now that is friendship.

Okay, why am I calling this Throwback Thursday: Super Nintendo?

Let’s call it what it is. Throwback Thursday: Zelda-A Link to the Past.

Man, I loved that game. The story is just so great! Even the beginning, when you wake up in a storm, sneak into the castle, taste adventure and find a sword! Man, best game ever!

As a matter of fact, when Mark and I got a Nintendo Wii a few years back, it was the first game I downloaded.

Come to think of it, I never did end up beating it.

I gotta get on that.

Tell me a bit about your throwbacks. What was your favorite console or video game from when you were little?

Christmas in January

Published on January 30, 2013, by in Uncategorized.

So, yesterday night after work, I joined my husband at our friend’s house for some fun and drinks.

We also did Christmas! We got an incredible cast iron Dutch oven (which we have wanted for years) from our friends Chris and Chrissy.

And I got the coolest, most freaking awesome shirt ever from Pope.

My new love! I can’t wait to wear it pretty much everywhere!,
